Great news. Mac OS X Lion finally gives us the ability to use Emojis characters like we have on our iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads. 
Emojis add smiley faces and cool symbols to all your text related apps (iChat, Stickies, Skype Chats and tons more). Start having some fun on your Mac. Follow the simple steps below:

- To bring up the Special Characters menu (Command-Option-T) and select Emoji from the sidebar. (shown below)
